Mina graduated with Executive Director’s Award of Academic Excellent from International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She was a hospital nurse and a CPR instructor for Red Cross in Taiwan. She is experienced with treating various conditions including: pain management, mental health, gastrointestinal disorders, reproductive system illness, tiredness, paralysis and insomnia.

Despite the use of needles, acupuncture is generally considered to be minimally painful. In fact, many people describe the sensation as a mild tingling or dull ache, rather than actual pain. The depth and angle of needle insertion are carefully controlled to minimize discomfort. Additionally, the practitioner may use techniques such as heat or electrical stimulation to enhance the therapeutic effects and reduce discomfort. Overall, acupuncture is a safe and effective method of treating various physical and emotional conditions, and the minimal pain associated with it is usually well tolerated by most people.
The risks of acupuncture are low. Common side effects include a little soreness and minor bleeding or bruising where the needles were inserted. The practitioner inserts sterilization of the single use, disposal of very thin needle at the appropriate angle and depth to balance the body and the flow of energy to treat many conditions, and relieve pain according to the acupoint location, purpose of treatment and physical condition of the patient to ensure safe and effective practice. In Western medicine point of view, the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue that this stimulation boosts hypothalamus in the brain producing endorphin, natural painkiller, and serotonin, influencing our mood.
Preparing for your first acupuncture session is simple. You just need to:

- Show up to your appointment on time with comfortable clothing.

Before having acupuncture treatment, be sure to tell the practitioner if you:
- Have a bleeding disorder:
Your chances of bleeding or bruising from the needles may be increased if you have a bleeding disorder or if you’re taking blood thinners. - Have a pacemaker:
Acupuncture that involves applying mild electrical pulses to the needles may potentially interfere with a pacemaker’s operation. - Are pregnant.
Some acupuncture points are thought to stimulate labor, which could result in a premature delivery.

You will see small beneficial effects from the very first appointment! Improvement will be seen and built upon during each session. We suggest 10 treatments for bigger better results.
