Egda Escorcia
Reg. Physiotherapist | Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist
Egda completed her Honours Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Chemistry at the University of Toronto. Realizing she was most satisfied by the “human element” in her work, she changed paths and obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toronto in 2013. In 2019, Egda became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). This internationally recognized advanced certification corresponds to the highest level of training in orthopaedics. It translates to specialized patient care with particular attention to the kinetic chain approach for assessments and treatments, especially in relation to the spine, as well as the biopsychosocial framework for pain management.
Egda is also a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and assists her patients with acute and chronic pelvic pain, incontinence, strengthening, pregnancy preparation and post-partum recovery. She also has training in Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Advanced Shoulder Treatment, Sports Taping, and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Pain. She has substantial experience working with patients across all age groups and with varying conditions, including repetitive strain injuries, trauma, post-surgical rehabilitation, and athletic injuries. She highly emphasizes ongoing patient education, goal-oriented treatment plans, and injury prevention. Her decision to work with individuals looking to improve their quality of life has been, and continues to be, extremely educational and rewarding.
